Dear friends,
How’s your summer time? Busy, exciting and happy. As you may still remember 2005 summer, GLCACS
and THAAC had a wonderful joint picnic party at Argonne National Lab Park. Now, it's that time of the
year to get together again! We invite you, your family and friends to join our Annual Summer Picnic. Let’
s have a big reunion party in a big family!

1. Chinese buffet & BBQ

2. Games: tug-of-war (Ba2 He2), volleyball, basketball, soccer, Frisbee, kite, group games.

Greeting from the president of Tsinghua Alumni Association in Greater Chicago Area 5/5/07
Dear Friends,
Tsinghua Alumni Association in Greater Chicago Area just had a great annual meeting on 5/05/07. Many
Alumni, Alumnae and the friends of our association showed up and made this gathering one of the best
events in our association. Thank you very much to your support!
In this gathering, the new board of our association is elected. They are
Tsinghua Alumni Association in Greater Chicago Area is established to serve all of our Alumni and
friends in this area. We hope that it will benefit all members' living and studying in US and promote the
good communication relationship among all members and Tsinghua university. Our association could not
doing well without the daily support from all of you. Your deeply involvement is the essential to its growing
up. So please let our association board members know if you have any suggestion. Hearing from you will
significantly help to make our Alumni organization better.

Tsinghua Alumni Association in Greater Chicago Area is in the process to register as 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization 4/25/07
Registering our association as 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is a very important milestone for our
association's long term growth. It will benefit both our association as whole and all members. It will make
our association formal organization with a legal entity for many perspectives. Also being 501(c)(3) tax
exempted may help our alumni and friends to have their donations to the association tax-exempted (
please consult your accountant for your situation ). It will also bring many tax benefits and long term
growth opportunities to our association. If you want to know more about the current progress status or
other detail information, please contact our board members.
